    Thanks for this.

    I have recently loaded a large amount of new Events and suddenly the performance of I Movie has slowed to a crawl. Is that common and thus a sign that I should save raw video elsewhere?

      Hey Andy,

      Thanks for your message. I’m not certain, but I would guess that once iMovie has ingested all the footage into the Events panel, performance will sharply improve. Remember to store all of your downloaded raw video footage to an external drive. If you store your raw video on the same drive as the computer operating system, that can cause problems.
